All glory goes to God.
Do you love God? Yes, right? Do you want to obey Him? Of course, you do. Are you eager to read His word and His will for your life as you wake up? Indeed, you are.
But here’s the reality. No one wants to obey God. Yup. You read that right. It says “no one,” not you, or even me, or even the most righteous of all. Pretty heavy, huh? Sin is the very core of our being, the very core of our hearts. Just like Adam. The first sin was disobedience. He disobeyed God. But that’s how he works. Jesus came for the lost, for the sinners. Whether we’ve accepted Him as our Lord or not, we still fail. And no matter how hard we try to be righteous, we will still fail. But don’t worry. Because is not pleased with good works. He wants your faith in Him. Haven’t you realized that?
So how are we able to still love, serve and worship God? It is because of His grace. It is by grace that we are able to obey Him, to get to know Him more, to read His word, and to love Him. Isn’t that great? That’s why every time we repent, ask forgiveness, and make Him our Lord of our whole life, we are a new creation. He washed our sins as white as snow. Because God sees the work of His son on you. And now we are called as children of God, too. Now, how beautiful is that?
Maybe that’s why the first commandment was too love God with all our heart, mind, soul, and just everything of us and in us. Cause whatever happens, it all goes back to God, to His son, to the Cross, to the Sacrifice, with all of but one reason. Love.
Many people today experience being burnt out from God. We get too familiar with all these church stuff. Or maybe we get too busy with our work that we compromise our time with Him. Or worse, we tend to go back and do what we used to do when God wasn’t still in our lives.
And that’s when we realize that something’s missing, that what we’ve been doing is not what we really wanted. And at times, we tend to condemn ourselves and do everything to gain His forgiveness.
But God’s mercy is always new every morning. We don’t need to earn it. It doesn’t matter how bad our sins could be. Once we repent, humble ourselves and ask His forgiveness, He graciously forgives us. Our sins are washed as white as snow. He loves us so much that He is graciously giving us the chance to go back to Him and start over. He did this to let You realize that it is only Him who can satisfy you. Remember, it’s not you looking for God but it is God who has always been looking for you.
So how about leave all the past behind, and start over? Once you are in God, you are a new creation as is says in 2 Corinthians 5:17. You might be grieving today but remember, no one will take away your joy. Because God is joy. For you are His, and He is yours.
For I am Yours, and You are mine.
Finally, after all the practices and training. It was time. Everything was set. The stage, costumes, make-up, the arena. It’s about to start.
As the crowd went crazy, she said her own little prayer. Then the performance started.
Tumbles. Power moves. Graceful. Flawless. Beautiful, indeed. She was dancing with her crew in front of a crowd with 10,000 people watching them, cheering them, praising them for how much they were talented and anointed in dancing.
Her crew were amazed by the crowd and appreciation. It was overwhelming. But she didn’t even notice a bit of the crowd. She was having the time of her life. She was having her own little world. She’s dancing for her first love, her true love. He was the only thing she can see. And she whispered, “God, this is for You.”
Single girl, training yourself for marriage is really just discipleship: intentionality, service, accountability, submission, repentance, hospitality, and community. If your singleness lasts longer than you’d planned, take heart that you are ultimately becoming more and more like Jesus.
